Childhood

Childhood — the ultimate stalker.
Doesn’t matter what you do, where you go,
It’ll haunt you till your last breath,
No matter how many times you say “No.”

Maybe sometimes you forget its power.
It shaped you into who you are now.
Give it full control and believe me,
You won’t love what you’ll see when you allow.
Good memories of our childhood helped us
build real dreams.
While bad memories still haunt us in our nightmares.
And only our mothers know the intensity of our screams.

The bullies broke our confidence,
Made us insecure.
But did that help us realise —
Who hated us and whose friendship was pure?
Bad or good, both experiences existed for a reason.
Without them, could we really enjoy all of life’s seasons?
