The Rain

A maiden was sitting
Beside the windowpane,
Holding a cup of coffee
To watch the rain.
The wind murmured,
The dry leaves raved,
Announcing the tidings
Of the coming rain.
How it gushes from the sky’s heart,
Embracing the beauty of the earth.
The dancing diamonds on the grass,
It also covers the land of gold and brass.
Sweeping away the heat and dust,
In every street like a wanderlust.
Turning the vague world into a land of joy,
Causing all the animosity to destroy.
Pouring blessings that once had to depart,
Bringing peace and glory to every heart.
